How lovely to enjoy festive training on Sunday in such un-seasonal weather! It was fantastic to see our children showing their increasing knowledge and understanding of this most excellent of sports. We have had a great season so far with some brilliant team performances in our first taste of competitive festival rugby. We have also cause for great confidence and optimism as we move forward into the second half of the season.
I am sure we all have different reasons for introducing our sons and daughters to rugby. For example, it might be the TREDS principles of teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship. An important reason for me was for Max to experience the feelings of comradeship and community that comes from being part of such a fantastic rugby club like A&C. We have a great group of players and parents in our age group and on behalf of the coaches I’d like to thank all of you for your support in making this a great environment for our boys and girls to learn this game. This is something everyone can contribute to so please keep up the good work!
This week’s star players were difficult to select given the high quality overall. Nonetheless the coaches eventually opted for Samuel, Edward and Alex. Well done to you and all those that braved the mud. Extra Christmas presents all round!
