A&C U12s - Wasps Tournament

First up - pool matches - against Henley Hawks, Abbey RFC and Buckingham Grizzlies. The defence was outstanding in these matches - keeping out each of the opposing teams (the infamous bagel that David always talks about) and we had some outstanding running rugby which, unfortunately, wasn't always rewarded with a score. However, there were some fine tries scored by Chrissy, Kofi and Thomas C.

We then played against the other Buckingham team in the competition - Buckingham Polars. A&C made an early mistake from kick off and came under pressure with a throw-in from the 5 metre line. However, they eventually cleared this and set up a score by Chrissy again dancing through the defence. Unfortunately, mistakes from the kick-off again meant our defence came under pressure again with Buckingham driving over our line for a try. Amersham responded in fine style which allowed Seb Porter to run at a broken defence to score a great try. The game ended 2-1.

Then we came up against Oxford Harlequins who are a strong unit and they put a lot of pressure on our try line for the first few minutes. However, this pressure was eventually cleared and Amersham spent most of the rest of the game in the Oxford half. Unfortunately they couldn't quite finish off their moves with the Oxford defence being very strong and the match ended Nil-Nil.

This result meant the boys were knocked out on try count back - 5 to Oxford's 9. However, the boys played well with the defence being particularly outstanding all day long - only one try conceded in 5 matches.
