A&C Team – Mixed
MoM – No. 8 Blake Morris
On paper, Windsor U14s should be a very competent rugby squad, however the reality was quite different. A&C led the charge from the opening whistle with excellent runs from George Hiscock and Edward Griffiths both carrying the ball close to the opposition's try line. However, it was Blake at No.8 who scored the first of his four tries. Using his low centre of gravity he weaved through the Windsor defences running a third of the pitch to place the ball down over the line. At times A&C was able to demonstrate some flourishing rugby as they had more thinking time granted by Windsor. Harry Spennewyn and James Bunce showed off their power as the forwards dominated the rucks. Further tries were made with Edward, Tommy, Monty, George and Max all scoring one each.
The A&C coaches were able to try a few players in different positions and the conversions were carried out by Monty, Max and Matthew (F), all this proved to be a useful exercise from the coaches perspective as ordinarily we don’t have the time to deviate from the players more usual playing positions and then test it.
During the second half a little complacency set in and A&C left the door open for Windsor to score 2 tries. This put more pressure on A&C’s defences as they were determined not to let a third through before the final whistle.
A solid win for A&C with the final score being 57 – 14.
