Chiltern bounce back

Amersham got back to winning ways in BBO 3 North against Bicester pushing them up to second in the league.

The first 20 minutes were scrappy; the set piece, breakdown and decision-making were not functioning well and it showed. Amersham who were far too slow at the breakdown finally settled into the match and began to play through the phases.

When in possession Bicester continued to kick the ball away trying to find territory in the corners and this allowed Amersham’s back 3 to counter attack successfully.

Jack Kenyon scored a hat trick in the first half after some great running from full back and a further tries were added by Dave Robertson, Neil Foster and Johnny Rice.

The second half Chiltern were able to add a further three tries.

The first was setup by Neil Foster for Johnny Rice to score, the second a great team try finished off by Jamie Fenton and the final try of the game was scored by Gareth Crimp after good work from Dave Robertson.

FT 57-0

In parts Chiltern played some great rugby and were rewarded with two excellent team tries. There is still a lot to work on but the key was that Amersham didn’t concede.

Two notable highlights were Tom Collins starting his first 3xv match and Matt Wall returning to the club after time off with injury.
