The home team started very brightly and turned Chiltern ball over three times in the first 10 minutes at the breakdown. Sloppy Chiltern defence opened a gap in midfield for an OP try on 12 minutes, converted for a 7-0 lead.
The visitors then had several phases of better play and began to secure more territory with strong runs from Andy Zair, Dean MacLennan, Josh Davies and Ziana Alexis. Against the run of play OP scored a long range penalty for a 10-0 half time advantage.
The final pass let Chiltern down on several occasions which is something important to work on in training.
Five minutes into the second half, centre Aaron Doyle crossed for a Chiltern try and Joe Butler followed up mid way through the half after a mazy run and a surging break from hooker Zane Turner, which Andy Fluker converted to narrow the gap to 17-12.
In between, OP scored a well worked try which was converted from the touchline, despite being down to 14 men after a yellow card.
One final penalty from each side brought the final score to 20-15 for the home team who deserved their victory. Old Priorians game management and decision making were better and their ferocity and accuracy with and without the ball never allowed Chiltern to settle into a rhythm.
