On the weekend of the 24th and 25th June, Amersham and Chiltern need YOU to come and help with the Natwest RugbyForce weekend. The weekend is an opportunity for all of the club’s supporters, players, coaches and members to help maintain the clubhouse and pitches so they can continue to be used by hundreds of rugby players every week.

The weekend is part of a nationwide initiative run by the RFU to help clubs develop links with their members, supporters and the rest of the local community by getting them to help maintain the clubhouse and grounds. Already as part of the programme Amersham and Chiltern RFC have won a £2000 grant to use for pitch maintenance and were visited by the Twickenham Head Groundsman Keith Kent to assess the grounds. We are hoping you will help us continue this great start by spending a weekend at the club helping out with some of the following projects:

Redecorating the Grayburn Room
Fixing the potholes in the pitch side car park – there will be the opportunity to ride on a steam roller!
Jetwashing the patio and pitch fencing
Revamping the gym
Painting and lighting the equipment containers
General maintenance on the pitches and clubhouse

If possible, please bring any of the following along to the club to help out:

Wheelbarrows
Rakes
Shovels
Buckers
Sponges
Scrubbing brushes
Detergent
Sugar soap

Amersham and Chiltern’s RugbyForce weekend is open to everyone, whether they are involved with the club or not, and there will be tasks fit for every ability. The weekend promises to be a great opportunity to learn more about the club, meet new people, and help support this hub of the community. Refreshments will be available at the clubhouse on both days.
