U12s at Drifters

Our B team visited Drifters RFC, who traditionally only field one team but at a very good level. With a number of new faces and combinations in key areas the Bs excelled, winning 5 - 3, including a 4 - 1 performance in the second half as their confidence, rightly, grew. They played excellent continuity rugby, with the forwards outstanding in the loose and the backs using this possession inventively. There are things to work on but the quality of their play was probably unrivalled in any previous match, a fantastic achievement given the standard of the opposition. Too many stars to single out anyone in particular but it is so encouraging seeing the competition for places building across the squad. Selection only becomes harder every week.
