B Team Report

The A&C B team won the tournament and all their games in some style, scoring
13 tries and conceding only one. A slow start against a gritty Beaconsfield
left much to work on. But this was the prelude to the team's toughest
opposition, Buckingham. A much improved performance saw a deserved, but
hard fought, 2-0 win. The next matches against Fullerians and Saracens
were won more convincingly and we finally started to see the free-running
rugby that we have seen over the last couple of weeks. A final "winner
takes all" match was against Buckingham, once again. The side conceded
their first try of the competition relatively early on but this seemed to
spur the team on to their best performance with 1 to 13 demonstrating
fantastic commitment and determination. A&C's excellent forwards were
quicker to the breakdown all day, disrupting their opponents' possession and
creating good, clean ball for the backs. The backs' tackling was superb
while their passing had everyone drawing breath on more than a few
occasions. It was fantastic to watch!

A Team Report

Fresh off their incredible win at the Windsor Festival the previous week,
the A&C U12 team again won all their 5 matches to win the tournament,
scoring 17 tries and conceding only one. The team has delivered consistent,
high-quality performances and has proved very hard to beat. An initial win
over Beaconsfield was bettered by a superb display against a strong
Buckingham side. Their defence again proved to outstanding over the day,
letting in just one try to a determined Chesham side. Below their best, they
ground out a 1-0 win over Saracens, before running in some tries and
finishing in style against Tring. Their work as a team has set them apart
the last couple of weeks. The forwards have been rampant in the loose,
consistently dominating possession, playing a strong and quick game. The
backs meanwhile have used that excellent platform to great effect. Their
extra pace and intelligent running lines have proved too much for the
opposition, while their work-rate in defence has been exceptional. Three
tournaments played this season and they remain undefeated!
