Chinnor vs Amersham
We score early after an Amersham kick is collected by forwards from an excellent kick-chase at the start. Chinnor try to respond but the effort falls short as one good hard run is stopped dead in its tracks 10 ft from the line by our fullback. From our line John steps his man and passes out to Will who runs the length of the pitch to score 0-2. Post a turnover ball, our forwards quickly take it and after some slick play we go on to score again. Cam then goes on a barnstorming run through the middle to make it 0-4. Another quick restart and we go 0-5 as forwards score again. Next Amersham string together another set of great passes., followed by a good hard drive by Dan to gain metres before moves out to wing where it seems to falter 10m out, but ball finds new impetus and moves back inside with Dan dotting down to make it 6-0. Amersham running rampant, with some great interplay on the left wing see us in the dying moments score a seventh with no reply.

Amersham vs Old Albanians
Again we score early with OA coaches begrudgingly on the touch line commenting about the quality of our clear outs. OA though look to answer, but stopped in tracks by a tackle from our 15. Another passage of play sees us testing their resolve as they defend their try line when Maxim pops out of line and stretches for our second, with a boot in the head for his troubles. After a great run from Will, the ball is intercepted (a wee bit offside...?) as OA score in the last play of game.
Amersham 2 vs OA 1

Amersham vs Buckingham
Seconds into match we are 1-0 - Seems we are making a good habit fast starts. Within seconds of an offside call, turn over ball leads to us scoring again 2-0. Amersham again apppear in a mood, and go 3-0 with great support and success on the left wing. Buckingham start to turn the screw in retort but then the ball is ripped away from attacker by Dan who offloads quickly, with the ball out to the wing for us to score 4-0. Coaches have a quick chat as a rout looks in cards, but Buckingham coaches take constructive view it is a good learning lesson for their players. Something they might have, in hindsight rued, as out of the side of the scrum our Sam scores directly to make it 5-0, and we quickly go 6-0 after a lot of loose play - boys getting a bit too ambitious with ball in hand. Twice we nearly score only to be taken back for a scrum. A brief respite for Buckingham as the score goes to 7-0, followed by an 8th in the last moments after some slick passes.
Amersham 8 vs Buckingham 0

A&C vs Chess Valley
From the scrum, we see the forwards half wheel round but ball comes out and we score through the middle 1-0. We then see a lot of intricate (over-elaborate?) play result in a bit of stalemate for several minutes. As the match wears on, mistakes start to creep in as Amersham boys start to flag. Regardless after an extended run of play, Tommy spots a gap and weaves his way to the try line to score.

Amersham U13s finish tournament with no losses, 19 tries and only one try conceded.

The final tally impressive effort from the squad. The impact of having David Treadwell on coaching team is clearly visible as the boys played with a lot of ambition with ball in hand (no stuffing the ball up the jumper for this lot). On the defensive side, the work we have been doing with Matt Allen is also paying off with better organisation and line speed on defense. The scrums were solid, the tackling improved, and we bossed the breakdowns with even OAs commenting on the quality of our clear outs.
