Honours Even

The much anticipated matches with Chinnor who bought two teams for the day was played under what seems to be the default weather pattern for this season - windy and wet - making handling crucial.

In the first game, A&C started a bit on the back foot with Chinnor making some in-roads only for knock-ons and some great defence in turnovers meant that A&C won the ball back. Once in possession, A&C quickly passed the ball for Thomas Cocking to out pace Chinnor's defence to score some great tries with Kofi Cripps also getting on the score sheet. However, Chinnor lads started to become more cohesive and scored a try to end the half only 3-1 down.

Chinnor then began to be more dominant and score three tries with A&C touching down again to level the scores up. Chinnor then scored towards the end of the second half and then ran out deserved 5-4 winners in a very entertaining and close game.

The Chinnor lads for the second match appeared to be a lot bigger - particularly in the forwards and A&C decided to palyed at pace and were again 3-1 up at half time - with tries from Chrissy Grint again proving to be crucial in the match. A&C continued to play at pace - moving their bigger forwards around the pitch and scored two further good scores to win the match 5-1. The final score giving a somewhat unfair reflection on a competitive game in that there was committed rucking on both sides with A&C's finishing to be the difference between the two sides.

Overall - both games were enjoyable to watch and both sides should be pleased with the way the games were played - competitive without niggle and with plenty of skills on show. Thanks to Chinnor for coming to play and we hope to see them again soon
