Two quick tries for Bletchley seals home win

A top of the table clash ended in defeat for Chiltern after 5 minutes of madness.
The visitors started well with an early penalty for Ryan Greenstreet. This was cancelled out when Bletchley had a penalty of their own making the score 3-3 after ten minutes.

Chiltern’s set piece was outstanding throughout the match and this set the platform for their possession and territory.

Despite playing most of the game in Bletchley’s half, the home team were able to work their way into Chiltern’s half and the early warning signs were visible when their centre ghosted through the Chiltern defence unchallenged to score under the posts. The try converted making the score 3-10.

Towards the end of the half Chiltern had a lineout five metres out and a catch & drive resulted in a well deserved try for the visitors scored by Tom Collins. The try was converted by Ryan Greenstreet making the score 10-10.

Just before half time there was an unfortunate knee injury to Luke Donnebaum who had to go off and was replaced by Chris Coldwell.

HT 10-10

Chiltern started the second half much like the first and were rewarded with an early penalty, converted by Ryan Greenstreet to put them in the lead 13-10.

With around twenty minutes to go Chiltern were camped in the Bletchley 22 when the ball was kicked away and easily picked up by Bletchley who counter attacked well and exposed Chiltern out wide to score under the posts. The try was converted 13-19 to the home team.

Within minutes of their second try, Bletchley again exposed Chiltern out wide to score their third try of the match. The score was now a flattering 24-13 to Bletchley.

The rest of the match was spent in the Bletchley 22 but Chiltern couldn’t convert their possession into points.

Well done to Bletchley who stay top of the league but a real opportunity missed for Chiltern.
