Chiltern score 12 tries in the sun
To win 70-15 you would expect a story of domination in the set pieces but Biggleswade had the better of the scrums and the lineout and they scored the first try. Chiltern lived off the turn over ball with Louis Cottell and Guy Aikenhead expertly turning over lost ball after lost ball. Chiltern's line was led by Man of the Match Jamie Fenton who unleashed the power and pace of the backline with creative passing and a high tempo game plan. It really felt like a long 80 in the sun with a referee who wanted the game to be played in complete silence. Here are the player reports:

1. Lewis Godfrey - Lovely Rhino ball and carried well. Marred the afternoon with a pointless yellow card.
2. Cookie - Rock in the scrum , loves sticking it up them
3. Doug Smith (c) - Played the 80 minutes
4. Mike Griffiths - turned down the ex-players lunch to play and scored a memorable try
5. Kitch Mate - No one knows his real name, carried well , looks made of 3xv stuff
6. Guy Aikenhead - Tackled and carried well, battled hard against a good lineout
7. Louis Cottell - Turned over ball for fun, scored two and was a danger man around the pitch
8. Luke Donnebaum - Scored the catch and drive try, loads of carries and broke tackles , usual high commitment
9. Paul Sitzberger - Organised the forwards and a lovely quick pass and boot
10, Jamie Fenton - MoM , ran the line and the game plan , unleashed the backs
11. Tim Lowry - Busy and committed, worked well in back 3
12. Esmond Brown - Ran straight, broke tackles , what he does
13. Jack Davidson - Last man to arrive but put in another solid shift, pace outside and a great attacking threat
14. Mikey Dominic - Scored a hat trick , took the ball at full pace and ran the tries in , lovely to watch
15. Anthony Smith - Good positional play and one amazing interception to prevent a try , ran from deep.
16. Darren Wilson - Some good carries then went off with a nasty broken nose
17. Mark Connell - Played Prop, Hooker and Second Row, played for the team , top performance and commitment
18. Jason Kilbey - You can take the boy out of the 3xv but you can't take the 3xv out of the boy. Came on for a lively 20 minutes at the end and scored a couple of tries.

A really good team performance and start to the season , we now face a new team into Merit 3 - Old Albanians Gladiators 3XV. Another tough match in prospect.
