After a week of quite outstanding injuries and unavailability throughout the club Amersham & Chiltern arrived with 15 men, only to find out Leighton Buzzard had the same.
Chiltern were camped in the Leighton Buzzard 22 for the majority of the first half and had 2 dissalowed tries in the process. Firstly Greg Douglas in the corner after good rucking & mauling and secondly James Carty after the referee deemed a forward pass.
A frustrating end to the first half.
HT 0-0
The second half started with Leighton Buzzard trying to push into the Amersham half but they dealt with it well and counter attacked through Anthony Page who gathered the ball in his own 22 to chip and catch his own pass making up half the pitch.
This led to Amersham working their way back into the Leighton half once again and after constant pressure the try finally came through good running and passing throughout the team and the try was scored by Ant Page.
Conversion was missed by Jamie Fenton.
Amersham tried hard to score another try after a series of good set piece and possesion but couldn't add to their lead.
FT 5-0
For Chiltern to come to Leighton with 15 men and win was a credit to every player on the pitch and this was epitomised by Luke Donnebaum, captain for the day who played through until the end having got injured in the first minute of the game.
Highlights were James Perkins playing a strong game at flanker, Michael Brothers having a lively game at scrum half and Joel Blaise-Williams had an all round excellent performance.
Chiltern's next game is against Henley at home.
