2vx hammered by Chinnor

Chiltern arrived at Chinnor in a confident mood off the back of a good run of results since the New Year. A perfect day for rugby but unfortunately it turned out to be the 2xv's worst result of the season as they were comfortably dispatched by an impressive Chinnor.

The first 20 minutes and the signs were ominous as Chinnor produced 3 well worked tries through a lineout catch & drive, hard running from their powerful 10 and another strong run in the forwards.

Injuries to back rowers Gareth Wehrle & Luke Antos and a yellow card for Dan Pettinger made life even harder against a powerful Chinnor team.

Two further tries were scored before half time, another strong run from the Chinnor centre and their fifth try scored on the stroke of half time making the half time score 0-27.

Just after half time Chiltern unfortunately suffered their fourth injury of the match, Henry Bowcock dislocating his thumb so the away team were reduced to 14 men.

Chinnor then produced a fantastic try, passing through the hands and scoring in the corner 0-37.

Chiltern battered and bruised then had a further injury to captain Luke Donnebaum reducing them to 13 men. Chinnor then turned on the class with space to run into and two further tries were scored taking the score to 0-47.

With 10 minutes to go both teams received a yellow card for foul play, so Chinnor down to 14 and Chiltern down to 12.

Two final tries were scored to well and truly see off the visitors and the final score of 0-61 confirmed Chiltern's worst result of the season. Credit to the team for keeping the team spirit going until the end.

Well done to Chinnor who produced a fantastic performance.
