7 tries secures the bonus point win

This fixture reversed last season decided the BBO1 title so it was always going to be an intense match and so the first half proved but in the second half Chiltern pulled away and secured a good bonus point win.

It took 10 minutes for the first score. Within one minute Chiltern went from a try held up over the line to a loose catch in midfield, the Windsor centre fly hacking through which wasn’t dealt with and the Windsor fly half scoring under the posts, the conversion successful making it 0-7.

Chiltern’s reply was quick and off the top of a strong lineout platform, the ball was passed out to Josh Davies who burst through the defence to score under the posts, he converted his own try to tie the score at 7-7.

The home team were then caught out at the back of a lineout when the Windsor scrum half sniped through and offloaded well to the fly half to again score under the posts, conversion successful 7-14.

Chiltern again replied with a strong break from Josh Davies who offloaded well to Pip Blake to score, conversion successful from Josh Davies 14-14

Just before half time Chiltern’s Luke Donnebaum received a yellow card for dangerous play in the air so the home team were down to 14 men for the rest of the half but Windsor couldn’t capitalise so the scores were equal going into half time.

HT 14-14

Three changes were made for Chiltern and all three substitutes had a significant impact on the second half; Michael Brothers, Pete Johnston & Luke Antos.

Immediately from the restart Chiltern were inside the Windsor 22 and quick ball from Michael Brothers to Jack Davidson on the blind side set up Pete Johnston who finished well in the corner, the conversion missed 19-14. This try putting Chiltern in the lead for the first time in the match

This was followed up by four further tries. The first secured the bonus point; a strong break by Pip Blake who setup Josh Davies for his second of the afternoon, and he converted to make it 26-14.

Chiltern’s fifth try was fantastic support throughout the team which led to a strong break on halfway from Aidan Lever who beat numerous defenders to offload to Zak Underwood who raced in to score in the corner to make the score 31-14, the conversion missed.

The next try was inspired by a 20 metre team maul right up to the Windsor line only to be held up over the line. From the resulting scrum Michael Brothers fed quick ball to Jack Davidson who sliced through under the posts to convert his own try 38-14.

The final try started with a Windsor scrum, Aidan Lever cleverly hooked the ball back for Luke Antos to pick up from the base and pass to Jack Davidson to weave his way through the defence and score his second try, convert and secure an impressive 45-14 win.
