Chiltern arrived at Windsor for the BBO1 Grand Final and came out on top to secure the league title. The match would ultimately decide the winner of the league with Chiltern top and Windsor in second
The first 15 minutes Chiltern were camped in the Windsor half but couldn't turn their pressure into points. Windsor worked their way into the Chiltern half and successfully converted a penalty to make it 3-0.
Soon after Windsor broke the defence well out wide and the winger raced in to score in the corner. The conversion was missed 8-0.
Unfortunately Jack Secher pulled a hamstring so was replaced by Ally Bruce at centre.
Chiltern kept in touch with a penalty well slotted by Will Browne 8-3.
Just before half time Chiltern levelled the scored with a try for Giles Westgarth, the conversion was missed.
HT- 8-8
An early Windsor score put them back in front and the conversion was successful giving them a lead of 15-8.
A penalty in the Windsor 22 was taken quickly by Michael Brothers who setup Joe Carey, the conversion successful by Will Browne tying the scores again at 15-15.
Having stepped up a gear Chiltern were now dominating the set piece and had the edge; after good phases of play Ally Bruce sliced through the Windsor defence to score in the corner. An outstanding conversion from Will Browne gave Chiltern the extra two points to gave them a lead of 15-22
Chiltern's indiscipline allowed the Windsor full back to step up and slot 3 penalties, one in particular from the halfway line which was superbly converted. The lead now in Windsor's favour 24-22.
Chiltern then went ahead with a penalty of their own, again well converted by Will Browne 24-25.
The last 10 minutes were played at a frantic pace and Chiltern's strength & fitness began to pay off as they worked they way back into the Windsor half.
With the clock running down and into the final minute of the match Chiltern went through the phases and eventually passed out to Giles Westgarth who crashed over for his second try and Chiltern's fourth. The score now 24-30
Will Browne then kept his nerve to slot the final conversion and secure the match, preventing Windsor a losing bonus point. A perfect way to finish a great season, well done everyone involved.
