Chiltern defence stands strong for convincing win!

With a couple of last minute changes to the side (Ross Bugden and James Dobree-Carey out, Michael Brothers and Max Dugdale in), the Chiltern 2nd XV took to the field against a keen Aylesbury side who had beaten last weekends loss inflicting opponents Reading Abbey comfortably, earlier in the season.

A bitterly cold Northerly wind was blowing towards the club house as kick-off was received by Chiltern. After some early indiscipline, Aylesbury were given the first chance to get on the scoreboard with a penalty being converted from just left of the sticks (0-3). With the backline Chiltern had at it's disposal it was only a matter of time before it ignited and so it did, with a firey streak. After smart hands through the line inside the Chiltern half, Dave John managed to break the line and find Dom Rice who rounded his outside man to score. The Kenyon converted to give Chiltern a 7-3 lead.

Many supporters decided to seek shelter and a warm drink after 10 minutes and perhaps this affected the Chiltern boys as further indiscipline allowed Aylesbury to kick another penalty (7-6). However, despite consistent infringements Chiltern managed to extend their lead when another break by David John, following a good counter act from an Aylesbury clearing kick, led him to score under the posts with the extras added by the man known as Jack Kenyon.
