“I am delighted to let you know that Tom "Turkish" Grammenos has been appointed Amersham & Chiltern Captain" says Charles Owen-Conway.

"Tom started his rugby at the Club as a seven year old in 1993 and made his First XV debut in 2004 as a back row replacement, although many of us will remember his appearance on the wing at Swindon, after which he resolved never to leave the safety of the pack again.

Tom has never stopped learning his rugby and, after graduating from university, made a back 5 slot his own in the promotion years and made the step up to National League rugby with ease. His consummate lineout skills and whole hearted commitment around the field have a made him a great favourite with players and crowd alike. And, as a Club, we are proud to have him as our Captain.

It may also make life a little easier when George sees his son speaking quietly to the referee on the field!"
