Bucks Cup Quarter finals and the A&C Minis Festival

Bucks Cup Quarter Finals - Saturday

This Saturday A&C 1stXV are kicking off this years Bucks Cup run against Slough at home (kick off at 2pm). To celebrate the start of the Bucks Cup we are holding a 2 course lunch prior to the game and we would love to see as many members and non-members attending. The lunch will cost £10 per head and it would be great if you could come along and support the lunch and then the 1XV afterwards. I hope to see as many of you there as possible.

45th Minis’ Rugby Festival - Sunday

We are delighted to welcome back Old Albanians, Fullerians, Windsor & Saracens along with our local old friendly foes from Beaconsfield, High Wycombe and Chesham Stags, all of whom contributed to a great festival of rugby last season.

This is my second Festival as Chairman of Minis’ Rugby at Amersham & Chiltern RFC. I thoroughly enjoyed what was a great event last year and sincerely hope for the same weather. The day will be great whatever Mother Nature throws at us though.

I must say a huge thanks to all of those that have helped with the organisation of the Festival, which wouldn’t be able to happen without all of the invaluable voluntary (!) contributions. Well done to the Under 12s age group, Liz Bradshaw and Derek Wallace for their huge efforts in bringing this together.

We are blessed again this year with the fantastic support of IBB Law for once again being our main Festival Sponsors. We are hugely grateful for Partner, Gary Bunce, being in attendance this afternoon to hand out all of the participant medals and the cup winners for the Under 12 Waterfall Tournament.

We are now some three years into the refined Age Grade Rugby Rules which have proven to be a great new addition to this wonderful game of rugby. I love the camaraderie and the additional time each individual is able to have involved in games to assist with their development. Remember rugby is about enjoyment so we hope you will all be able to promote our children’s enjoyment of the game with good sportsmanship and positive support for all players accordingly, both from your club and the 'oppositions' teams I really hope everyone enjoys their day, are able to sample the wonderful array of caterers in attendance again this year, Mozzarella Nation, Ashridge Delicious, Coffee Nation and The Beech House and best of luck to all the teams in achieving their goals.

Chairman, Minis Rugby

Car Parking
There is sufficient car parking available within the Club grounds, but we strongly recommend that you arrive EARLY to avoid disappointment in the event of a high spectator turnout. There will be a charge of £5 per vehicle to include a festival programme.

Please follow the directions of the marshals. Some of the neighbouring roads, particularly Weedon Lane (leading to the Club) will be coned and designated as ‘No Parking’ as
a courtesy to the residents. When leaving the Club, a ONE-WAY system will be in operation. Please turn RIGHT. This will lead you back to the main road.

In the event of heavy rain, if the organisers consider that parking on the Club’s grounds is not practical, alternative arrangements will apply. These are that
all cars will be turned away at the Club Entrance, cars will be directed to the public car park in the centre of Amersham located on the A4154 Rickmansworth Road,
10-15 minutes walk away. The start time of the Festival may be delayed in this event.

Facilities:
Changing rooms, showers, toilets, Professional First Aid, contacts for Emergency services, and a variety of refreshments including hot and cold food, drinks and sweets will be available throughout the day. Boots must
NOT be worn in the Clubhouse.
