Project Weatherfield - Our Planning Application: Decision Time

Project Weatherfield - Our Planning Application: Decision Time

Sam Wheeler10 Jun - 18:05

Bucks Council will be making their decision on our application for planning permission at 6.30pm on Tuesday, 16 June 2026.

The great news is that the planning officers have recommended approval, subject to conditions that we can meet. We need your help in one final push to show the councillors how much our club and community need the project to proceed.

You can help in two ways. The first is to attend the meeting of the East and South Bucks Area Planning Committee, which is in public and will be held in the Council Chamber at the building in Victoria Road, High Wycombe HP11 1BB.
Our planning consultants believe that strong, serious support from the club will carry a lot of weight with the members. The meeting will be filmed, and by attending you are agreeing to be seen on the council website, though you can ask to sit away from the cameras if you wish. Supporters of the application have the right to speak at the meeting: this is being managed by the club and the developer, so there is no need for anyone to say anything unless they are asked. We just need you to be there.

There is plenty of parking near the council building. Car parks at Easton Street HP11 1NP and The Swan HP11 2HF are 24-hour facilities within walking distance.

The second way in which you can help is to comment on the planning application HERE
You may have done so already, but it will help to write again, particularly in the light of the officer’s report. This will be available on the East and South Buckinghamshire Area Planning Committee pages of the council website at least five days before the meeting. If you haven’t commented before, you will need to create a log-in, but that is a simple step. Comments are accepted from anyone of any age, and they are personal rather than household based. Please be positive about the project and the report – you may not understand or agree with the conditions it sets but the club and the developer accept them and will comply.

The dementia care home will meet a dire need within our community. The project also brings huge benefits to our club and our town:
• An all-weather sports surface with new floodlights that means we do not have to cancel or postpone our games
• A new, properly drained playing surface on the railway pitch
• A re-laid ‘astro’ surface
• A re-surfaced access road and improved car parking and footpaths
• A significantly improved clubhouse
• Padel courts that will meet an increasing demand for that sport in Amersham
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, one that should secure the club’s playing and financial future for many years to come. We can seal it with one final effort over the next week.

LET’S MAKE IT HAPPEN!
