400 MILES. 12 DAYS. 1 MILLION STEPS.
In October, senior player Ollie Choules is taking on an ultra-running challenge for the Alzheimer’s Society. He’ll be taking roughly 1 million steps - one for every single person currently living with dementia in the UK.
Ollie is taking on the challenge in memory of both of his grandmothers, both of whom sadly passed away following their battles with Alzheimer’s. One of them, Christine Choules, was also a cherished Club Life Member.
Having seen how dementia slowly takes away independence, memories, and conversations, Ollie is turning memory into action.
Goal: £10,000 (Over £6,500 raised already!)
Where that money could go:
- 1,666 Support Line calls
- 66 Singing for the Brain sessions
- 200 carer support places
- 80 blood samples collected & analysed for future diagnosis
