He played for the 1st XV at fly half and was subsequently a stalwart member, at scrum half, of the Chiltern Vets team known as the Chiltern Hundreds. He acquired the nickname “The Flying Pig” on account of his devastating diving pass from the base of the scrum, even into his 50s!

His funeral is to be held at Chilterns Crematorium at 1pm on Friday 15 November and afterwards at Amersham & Chiltern clubhouse.
