A few weeks ago Amersham & Chiltern RFC announced the appointment of James Love as the club’s new Head Coach, marking a significant step forward in the continued evolution of our senior rugby programme.
Now you can hear his thoughts in this short video.
James joins A&C with a proven Champ & National League track record across both playing and coaching pathways. His experience spans performance environments, player development systems, and senior rugby leadership — bringing a modern, detail driven approach that aligns perfectly with the club’s long term ambitions.
Speaking on his appointment, James Love said: “I’m incredibly excited to join Amersham & Chiltern RFC. I thank Barnes RFC for all they have done for me and I leave them in rude health. Amersham & Chiltern RFC has a clear identity, a strong community, and a senior squad with huge potential. My focus is on building a high performance environment that develops players, strengthens our culture, and delivers rugby that the whole club can be proud of.”
Club Chairman Andy Saunders welcomed the appointment: “James stood out immediately. His energy, clarity, and commitment to player development match exactly where we want to take this club. This is another step in modernising our rugby programme and creating a pathway that connects our minis, juniors, colts, seniors, and academy aligned players.”
Director of Rugby Pete Gibson added: “James brings a fresh perspective and a level of detail that will elevate our training environment. His experience working with developing players and senior squads will be invaluable as we push towards our performance goals.”
James will lead the senior coaching group, oversee training design and delivery, and work closely with the club’s leadership team to strengthen alignment across the rugby pathway.
