Battling Vikings 2nd at Richmond

On Sunday a much depleted Vikings Team took part in the Richmond Development Tournament, facing London Scottish, Richmond and Windsor. The 9 man Vikings Team took to the field, scoring 13 tries and conceding just 4 tries in a battling performance, which earned them 2nd / 5 on the day W3 D0 L1.

The Vikings started with a tough match against Richmond Tigers in which they dominated the contact area eventually winning 4:0. Next came London Scottish who went on to win but only after coming from behind to beat the Vikings 2:3 in the best match of the day, the Vikings once again owned the contact area but were beaten out wide. Next came Richmond Lions who went the same way as their Tiger’s, the Vikings winning 3:0. Finally the Vikings beat Windsor 4:1 combing good contact skills with improving passing. Top try scorer was James Thomas 5, supported by Raphael Baker 3 and 1 each from Sam Edwards, Robert M-C and Ben Hellewell. Charlie Hannam and Oliver Marsden proved very effective in contact with Oliver also registering a couple of assists, Jonny Barnet continued to improve with good forward running and some link play.

Thanks to Tim for getting the best from the team.
