After two years of waiting the Under 15s finally started their very first league season with a home fixture against Buckingham, with whom we have had a number of close encounters in recent years. From the outset A&C played a scintillating brand of rugby with the forwards gaining yards with strong runs allowing the backs to break though the Buckingham defensive line. The rucking too was very strong with several turnovers, notably from Kofi Cripps and Max Eggleton, and even a scrum against the head. Buckingham were only able to field 15 players and from the outset this handicap started to count with a succession of injuries reducing the game to 13-a-side before the referee decided to end play after 10 minutes of the second half with the score at A&C 50 – Buckingham 0. Tries came from Chrissy Grint (4), Tom Ates (2), Alex Bower, Max Morphey (on debut) with Alex Bower kicking five conversions. An excellent performance from a very motivated and clinical A&C who unfortunately have to wait two months for our next League match against Drifters
