"We have appointed a group of dedicated and talented coaches to lead us next season" says Charles Owen-Conway, Chairman of Rugby.

"The senior coaching team is led by Craig Burgess as Head Coach. Craig is presently level 2 coach and is moving towards his level 3. He has extensive experience with Wasps and in Canada before joining Chiltern as player/coach in 2010. Last year he looked after back play and the success of the First XV last year was in large part down to Craig’s influence, particularly the running rugby which so thrilled the supporters after Christmas.

Whilst Craig will continue to look after the backs, Jonny Hutchings, another Wasps product, will assist him and also look after the Second XV back play.

For the forwards coaching we decided that a varied but more structured approach was required. So New Zealander Pete Gibson, ex Canterbury, will head the forwards team. Pete is progressing his RFU coaching qualifications and will bring his unique brand of determination and leadership to the team.

He will be supported by Jason Bowers as coaching consultant. Jason has just stepped down as Head Coach of Chinnor RFC. Chinnor has been hugely successful and Jason has just taken them to their highest ever league position in Division 2. He has however been coaching full time for over 12 years and not surprisingly, decided he wanted a bit of a rest! This is our gain and he will bring his wide ranging experience to assist us on a regular basis.

Ed Burt, our video analyst and a level 2 coach himself, will also be working with the First XV squad as will Alan Simmons and Mike Perera covering the forwards and fitness and conditioning respectively."
