Is anyone doing a 1st XV match report, or are we leaving it to Beaconsfield?

Conditions were dreadful, we won more ball than them but made more mistakes as well. They also had a lot of luck. We didn't, so we lost.

That do?

Your the press officer. You should have been there to write one.

Roddy. If you had been at the Committee meetings earlier in the season, you would have known that I informed the Chairman and Committee that I was unable to write the match reports this season as business and other commitments meant that I would not be able to attend many matches this year. As usual, nobody came forward, except that Peter Kenyon agreed to do a few and he emailed me some basic reports which I edited and forwarded to the papers from my laptop from places like Dubai and Bangkok! This has, however, for some reason now stopped. In any case, the results have not been anything to crow about, so sketchy coverage has not been a bad thing, although I believe that any publicity is better than none. As there are now only two matches left, it has become academic and we are having good publicty for the other sides, especially the juniors, who are doing exceptionally well. I hope that someone will come forward to offer to write the reports for next season. If I am given the "bare bones" together with the statistics, scorers, etc., I can probably turn into something acceptable for the papers, (as I have done on several occasions this season!)
