On Sunday the under 17s won a hard fought game against Aylesbury 17 - 11 in very heavy conditions at home.We now progress to the S.W.Divisional final of the Plate competition (this is the 2nd tier competition of 4 tiers run nationally by the RFU). We play Bristol next Sunday at Newbury RFC. Aylesbury never gave up and made us work right to the end for the win. Shocked by an Aylesbury try after only 5 minutes we came back strongly with good tries by Szwagrzak and Jackson, one converted by John and looked to have sealed the game with an excellent solo effort try by Jon Smith half way through the second half. However, Aylesbury came back at us and two penalties put them within one score of a win and, but for two try saving tackles by full back David John, they would have got there. A good effort by A&C who seemed to be still suffering form the exertions of the successful tour last weekend but more will be needed next week. Well done boys!! Squad: John,Jackson,Maw,Shiel,Shevlane,Smalley,Reus, Sendell,H-Krelle,Keynon,Rice, Telford,Rogers,Szwagrzak,Vialls,Thornton,Craggs,Smith,Biggins, Saunders,Shipp,Imbriano. |

Clive, Very good performance but I felt the guys thought they had it won with the 3rd try. Just goes to show it is never over until the final whistle. Great tackles to stop Aylesbury just short near the end of the game. |

Thanks Bill and Ryan. It is good to hear from our Californian players and medical team. Hope all is well out there in the sunshine. |
