Chaps,

As we're not going on tour this year, I feel it imperative to go in 2009...and I've decided to put myself forward for organising it!!! Any complaints, please make yourselves known asap!!

There's been some clubhouse talk about going to South Africa, in line with the Lions tour, so that we play a fixture and watch at least one test match.

I've made contact with a couple of tour companies to find out the feasibility of this trip and rough costs.

General itinerary could be to fly the Thursday, arrive Friday, watch a test on Saturday, stay in town till Monday then go to another place, watch the mid week game Wednesday, play Thursday, stay and watch the 2nd test on Saturday and fly back Sunday, arriving Monday. Total about 10/11 nights. Obviously, we could leave the second Friday, miss the second test, but be back in time for work on Monday Frown

This is slightly longer than the conventional tour, but I think we should make a good go of a 5000 mile trip!!

Any thoughts would be great, but ideally I'd like to know who would want to go and whether this should be a partners event, and whether we should watch 1 or 2 tests?

Cheers,

Nic

I was planning to go with Danielle next year anyway so tour to me sounds great. I think partners should be able to come as its not every day you get to go to South Africa! Clap

Any ideas on Price?

sorry no partners on tour unless you are willing to share them with the whole group! Dance In principle a good idea and we could have fund raising nights during the season!

I'll hopefully get an idea of price back next week.....but roughly looking, all in exc spending money should be no more than £1500 each.

I agree with Turkish on partners....this will be one of the only times I get to go to SA, so would be nice to bring the misses with!!! but numbers will vote I feel!!!

And Lurch, its good to see you offering out your's early!!!

IS Yogi only saying that because he has already shared his other half with the team?
