Over the course of the season, i feel that the number one's we have been wearing have been very disjointed. We look like a scruffy outfit compared to other clubs that we play against and personally this lack of unity and the fact that we dont look like a team reflects that we have not played like a team for a large part of the season. I can get a deal on a load of Polo shirts from a supplier i know. Would anyone object to paying 10-15 pounds out of their pocket for a polo shirt that they can wear to an away game so that we look somewhat professional and represent the club like we should. These little things go along way to building team spirit and unity which we need to bring back to the first team. For example the dress code in the 2's this season has been brilliant and look where they are in the league. The look like a proper unit of players going to away games and sends out a messgae to the opposition also. Its just a suggestion and it eradicates the problem of alot of players not wanting or be bothered to wear a shirt and tie to away games. Cathal |

Sounds like a good idea. I would be up for a polo shirt even though it may be more than a few weeks before I can get back into a team at the moment - bloody AIDS riddled body |

If everyone wore proper No.1s then we (you) would look like a team. If you need your clothes to build team spirit then something is desperately wrong. People should wear the correct attire because they already feel part of a team and out of respect: Both for themselves and their teammates - some people are just too cool though... |

I tend to agree with jules here the dress for the first team has always been number ones and I feel proud to put the chiltern tie on every sat standards have slipped and I for one would like to see everyone in number ones if Dave can do it in the seconds why not us!! |

I fully agree with yogi and Jules but the number ones are not working to away games and people are finding it too difficult to be in a shirt and tie for 11.o clock in the mornings. We have to be realistic and have a standard that everyone can maintain. My suggestion was for only away games. I am very proud to wear my chiltern tie every sat. However we are not the whole squad of players. If we continue to arrive to games looking scruffy and dishevelled then we will disrespect ourselves, the club and our team mates. |

How rediculous, even my four year old kid can dress himself in the mornings! If the players don't have enough respect for their fellow players and the club to dress themselves properly then they're not the right players for playing first team rugby. I'd personally drop them from the team until they learn how to dress properly!! |

I'm very much with Jules and Yogi on this one - and I think it just needs to be made clear the dress code which is expected of everybody on a Saturday. This is not the cause of anything, I don't really think you can attribute anything at all on the pitch to what you wear off it. That can only be improved by good, old-fashioned hard work in training, see you all tonight. Lurch. ps. polo shirts... really?... |

I agree with yogi and jules as well. I think that we are looking scruffy to games. Bring back the fines for players who turn up scruffy or who are late to a meet time. Nice and simple and good beer money for the end of the season, when we stay up. Pencil |

hey ya fellas, looks like im playing at 8 on saturday because of yogis unfortunate ankle injury. it'll be good to play a game with u guys. on the subject of pre and post match clothing i fully agree with yogi and jules. no 1's all the way, ill be wearing mine saturday before and after game and it would be good to see everyone else wearing 1s as well, lets turn up at beasonsfeild and give them the thumping they deserve, especialy after the 1 sided match report they've posted on their website for our last game against them in sept. see you saturday boys |

Jules & Yogi are right - I know I was never the smartest when i wore number ones. But it is all about setting standards. If putting on a shirt and tie slows you down to meet then somethig is drastically wrong. |

Interesting debate gents! Lets see what happens on saturday. Hopefully we will all turn up with chiltern ties on and focussed on getting a big W at Beaconsfield. My point being that we look unified and also look like we are representing our club properly. See you all at training and at Beaconsfield on Saturday. |
