We estimate that between 100-150 dogs have been walked on and around our pitches every week. The amount of dog excreta on our pitches is of major concern;Toxicana Canis can cause blindness in children and adults.
Two weeks ago, a campaign was launched to stop dog walking on our private sports grounds, and signs have been erected on all major entrances, including the paths coming in from the woods, warning that dogs are banned.
The effect has been very encouraging and the number of dog walkers on our grounds have dwindled to a trickle. Our target is to drop this to zero.
If any club member happens to spot people walking their dogs on our grounds, please feel free to ask them nicely to leave, and explain the reason, namely the dangers to our players of Toxicana Canis.
We hope that an article will appear in the Bucks Examiner next week about this which will inform the local community of our campaign. This should include the story of a little girl living locally who got Toxicana Canis, an extremely nasty disease; copies of the Press release are behind the bar.

I assume that means dogs are banned from the clubhouse as well
