Another bad day at the office for the 1s. In dreadful conditions they found the Wallingford team just too strong though they did show a lot of commitment and urgency in their play. In the 1st half they more than held their own and the 2 tries they conceded were due to dropping their concentation and poor defending meant the half time score was 10-0. As this was against a stong wind it did not seem too bad, however the wind swung and became across the pitch after half time and Chiltern did not have the advantage they hoped for.
The 2nd period proved to be difficult as Wallingford had sussed Chiltern were only playing with one jumper in the line-out and began to double mark Colm Gilhooly who despite valiant a effort began to struggle to win any good ball. This meant Wallingford began to kick into the corners knowing there was every chance of winning or at least disrupting the Chiltern throw. Thes tactics meant they were camped in Chiltern's 22 for long periods and although Chiltern defended stoutly they did concede 3 furter tries, 2 of which were converted to give a final score of 29-0.
A special mention should be given to the Chiltern front row for their valiant effort. Young Carlie Wilton, straight from the Colts improves every game, Dan Pettinger who normally plays 2nd row and Lloyd Powell who though not 100% fit answered the Club's call. Well done to them and to the whole team who never stopped trying.

what made matters worse was that we actually won the toss and decided to play with the conditions in the first half. even though this was 10mins before KO, the wind went through 90degrees in these 10 minutes which meant we played into the wind in the first half and then again in the second half as it changed back 5 mins into the second half.gutted.

This new website is the biggest white elephant - there was no need to get a new one - a complete waste of money!

Is that you volunteering to manage the web site content? I'm sure your assitance would be gratefully accepted?

Mark, you must agree with Ginge surely!? The homepage still shows the score of 'Chiltern 1st XV 27 – 10 CHESHAM'. Considering the 1stXV never actually played in this match it seems farcical that it has taken over three months for this to be changed.

The old website always had the latest information about the club on the homepage i.e. match results from the previous weekend or forthcoming events.

What's the point of having a CMS system if knowing is actually going to use it?

As you can see, I'm with Ginge on this one.

Its up to the people concerned to make use of the CMS. Dave Neale and I attended a training session the other week which took all of 10 minutes so its hardly onerous.
Why should it be sole responsibility of one person (as it was with Mike Griffiths) to update the site.

Too many people bleating but not prepared to do anything about it Naughty

Unless, Rob, you're volunteering too?

I'm happy to do it too. Email me the login details and I'll get one of my guys to change it.

...I'm not sure if I can come up with the snappy quotes though, best leave those to Ginge Wink
