Great result lads. The 3rd XV beat Aylesbury 37-7 in a fairly messy game but with 7 very well taken tries scored by Gez Rowland, Killer, Cooky, Dangerous and at least a brace from man-of-the-match Brian, plus one other try from someone else (sorry, wasn't paying attention after I'd come off in the 2nd half!) With the combined weight of myself (at blinside!), Simmo, Holmesy, Shanksy and Gibbo outweighing their entire 15, we didn't struggle for ball up-front, but a great deal of disruptive play and infringement from the opposition prevented us from doing as much with it as we'd have liked! Anyway, very enjoyable afternoon and the 2's won 68-0 away at Gosford I believe... |

Wow - looks like I picked a great weekend to be moving house and miss all the fun -
Well done everyone - especially the 1s for a great performance. Surely this calls for some match reports and results on the home page as it's about time we got some content up on our site. Mikey |

well to sum it up we played top knotch rugby for 15mins got 16 - 0 up and felt amazing!then we had a bit of a lul and they managed to get a score back before half time in the second half we played in patches and witney uped their game, with their winger scoring a good try smashing through a couple of tackles (he was quick for a fat lad!) and we held on for what seemed like a couple of hours at the end with a couple of brilliant try saving tackles and assisted a little by some poor decision making by the opposition when they had massive overlaps! a brilliant result and a fantastic team performance see you all at training on tuesday |

Ok so we won....but we're still bottom, still need to put together more than 20 mins of rugby in any game, and get another 5 wins at least. So yes it's a move in the right direction, but still a long way from where we need to be. Witney will be kicking themselves, and lets remember that they blew a lot of chances..... But we've won...the confidence is coming back a bit, but the work really starts here....and it starts on the training field. |
