Richie Williams, A&C Head Coach, gives an update on the First XV squad for next season.

Playing at level 5 rugby next season has raised the level of awareness and interest amongst players in our large catchment area. Amersham & Chiltern is a very attractive proposition, as we are a strongly based family and local community club - and we strive to play attractive, fast, running rugby.

We will need a bigger squad for the higher level of rugby, as it brings with it bigger impacts, bigger commitments and bigger injury lists.

As such, we are delighted to welcome a number of high quality local players that have joined the club this summer, wanting to be part of the Chiltern experience. These players will augment our already strong current First XV Squad, as well as players coming through from our very successful Academy and Junior section.

Please may I introduce to you…

Jack Elborn - joining us from Australia, but originating from Hemel Hempstead. Jack was a member of the Saracens Academy before playing a season at Cambridge in National 1. He can play across the front row and will be a timely addition to the squad.

Ashleigh Stevenson-Leigh - a second row joining us from National 2 team Bury St Edmunds. Ash has a wealth of experience both as a player and coach and will add real ballast to the engine room. He previously played for Antwerp in Belgium and was the community manager as BSE.

Nick 'Grizza' Harrison - a back row forward who played over 50 first team games at Chinnor; a player that will thrive under our playing philosophy.

Joe Pickett - currently playing over in Otago, Joe is another ex-Chinnor front row forward who has played over 100 National League games. He will look forward to joining allegiances again with Joe Winpenny.

George Coombes - a quality scrum half joining us from neighbours Drifters. George recently graduated from Birmingham University and came through this season’s successful Bucks County Squad.

Mikey McDonald - a 9 or 15 joining us from London Scottish. Mikey has gained two England Counties U20 caps and will be one of the most elusive players in National League rugby.

George Blewitt - a back 3 player from Chinnor who has a real appetite for scoring tries; an exciting talent to watch out for.

Sam Jackson - a 10 or 12 that has joined us from Bucks New University. A strong ball carrier who is able to control the game with his accurate kicking and passing game.

Ryan Cole - a former A&C player, Ryan returns to us from Cardiff Met University. A dynamic and physical ball carrier, equally at home at hooker or back row.

Eddie Church - a mobile hooker who joins us from neighbours Henley Hawks. Eddie will bring experience to our already exciting front row.

Daley Aremu - just joined!!!
