UNDER 17S WIN TOURNAMENT IN HOLLAND

A strong 23 man under-17 squad enjoyed fantastic success at the WRC Haaglander rugby tournament over the weekend winning all their 6 matches and conceding only 10 points in total. The opposition consisted of some quality teams from Westcombe Park, Croydon, Luctonians, Sleaford and The Hague but our pack were far too powerful for them all and the backs showed real class in very difficult conditions (snow, rain, hail, wind and sunshine all in one afternoon!). Jon Smith was voted MVP and Tom Shiel was top try scorer but it was without doubt a great squad effort making the 13 touring dads very proud and thirsty.
Just as importantly, the boys discovered they could sing in the bar without embarrassment and visited Amsterdam without loss of personnel. A wonderful trip in every sense!!
