Colts secure victory in Bucks Cup

Chiltern Colts beat Aylesbury 17 -10 in Bucks Cup Quarter Final

In desperate cloggy conditions at Weedon Lane Chiltern Colts came from behind to defeat Aylesbury colts 17/10 and avenge last seasons cup final defeat . 10/0 behind at half time, Chiltern were pressing the Aylesbury line as the half time whistle blew. However it seemed as if the New Year celebrations had left their mark on the Chiltern team as they had not really grasped the nettle.

After half time and the change of ends came a change of attitudes and a fresh determination. Sadly, captain and outstanding number 8 Will Reynolds, who was about to be considered for the first XV, was injured and had to be carried from the pitch.

The team were now firing on all cylinders, however, and three tries were scored by Tom Preston, who forced his way over, Ed Jones who accepted a marvellous late pass after Jack Claridge had driven his way through, and the ginger monster, Fraser Clark, who deftly outsped the Aylesbury defence to score a tremendous try. Two were beautifully converted by number 10 Craig Foster who generally had a fine kicking game.

Chiltern now go on to meet the winner of Milton Keynes V Beaconsfield in the semi final.
