Amersham & Chiltern RFC to host London Wasps Schools Tag Rugby Festival

The London Wasps Community Team will be staging a Schools Tag Rugby Festival at Amersham & Chiltern RFC run in partnership with Highland Spring.
On Thursday 3rd April nine teams representing seven local schools will congregate for the festival which will act as a culmination to a four week block of coaching which the London Wasps Community Team have been delivering in the schools as a part of Highland Spring’s Schools Rugby Programme. Participating schools include:
Curzon School, Penn Street
St Mary’s Cof E School, Amersham
Bell Lane School, Little Chalfont
Little Spring School, Chesham
Our Lady’s Catholic Primary School, Amersham
Waterside Primary School, Chesham
Chartridge School, Gerrards Cross
Stephen Lawrence of Amersham & Chiltern RFC said; "We are delighted that London Wasps have chosen Amersham & Chiltern RFC as the venue to hold their Schools Tag Rugby Tournament. It is particularly gratifying given that Josh Lewsey, the London Wasps, England and British Lions hero, started his rugby at Amersham as did Alan Simmons, the former Wasps hooker who is now one of our senior coaches.
We have supported mini rugby in the community for many years and each Sunday we have about 400 children between the ages of 5 to 12 training and learning rugby skills from over 70 qualified coaches in a safe environment. We very much hope everyone has an enjoyable day and look forward to any potential Josh Lewsey's joining us on any Sunday."
Dave Larham said; “We are delighted to have secured such a good venue which is in the heart of our supporter base for the festival. We have had a strong relationship with Amersham & Chiltern RFC for many years, however since we staged our New Year coacHclass there in January this relationship has gone from strength to strength, much of which is down to the support offered to us from Club members including Stephen”
