Won 12-5

Match Report:
Amersham had the tough task of Aylesbury Athletic ahead of them having previously beaten them earlier in the season and looking to complete the double.
Its never an easy match and matters weren’t helped with a very short warm up and then straight into the match.
Aylesbury came out straight away as predicted with strong running and good phase play. Amersham were able to settle into the match and as the match went on they began to take control.
The lineout and scrums were excellent all day and that is where Chiltern dominated and were able to get good ball out for the backs to find holes in the defence.
Amersham had an early penalty given but unfortunately missed keeping a tense game at 0-0. The pressure did pay off when a good move resulted in Lewis Culverouse going over for his fifth try of the season, the conversion was missed.
A very closely contested match ended with 5-0 at half time.
The second half saw Aylesbury with a new momentum and through good rucking and mauling they were able to work there way up the pitch and score in the corner, the conversion was missed making the score 5-5.
With enough time left Amersham then stepped up a gear and took control of the match finding holes in the Aylesbury defence, a good break by Ryan Lee resulted in a good finish for Tom Manton under the posts, John Naylor converted making the score 12-5.
A tense finish to the game, but Chiltern held out to earn a victory against a difficult Aylesbury team.
Man of the match goes to Tom Manton at full back for some great cover tackling and running from the back.
Amersham travel to rivals Beaconsfield next week expecting a tough encouter.
